Lo que parece una locura es posible, y rentable, gracias a tecnolog\u00eda solar de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n. \u00bfC\u00f3mo? <strong>Aqu\u00ed te lo contamos<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Los sistemas fotovoltaicos est\u00e1n por todas partes. Desde m\u00f3dulos para balc\u00f3n hasta instalaciones de 10 kWp para tejados de viviendas o gigantescos parques solares. Hace tiempo que la energ\u00eda solar dej\u00f3 de ser terreno exclusivo de los amantes de la ecolog\u00eda. Ya sea en Europa Central, Australia o las \u00e1reas m\u00e1s remotas de \u00c1frica, pocos cuestionan ya las ventajas que brindan los sistemas fotovoltaicos en estas regiones del planeta. Pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 hay del c\u00edrculo polar \u00e1rtico? \u00bfPuede ser rentable la tecnolog\u00eda fotovoltaica all\u00ed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00abEl lugar que nunca se deshiela\u00bb<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Para responder a esta pregunta, vamos a estudiar el caso de Grise Fiord, una peque\u00f1a comunidad en el territorio canadiense de Nunavut. Con solo 135 habitantes, es una de las zonas habitadas m\u00e1s fr\u00edas del planeta. El pueblo es conocido como \u00abEl lugar que nunca se deshiela\u00bb y, antes de la instalaci\u00f3n de un sistema fotovoltaico de 10 kWp, depend\u00eda al 100 % de centrales di\u00e9sel para la generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda. A esto se le a\u00f1ade que el precio del combustible se duplica debido al complicado transporte a trav\u00e9s del Atl\u00e1ntico Norte, lo que ha convertido el suministro energ\u00e9tico en un lujo caro de mantener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fronius.com\/solar-energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/se-blog-foird-bild-1-1024x525.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fronius.com\/solar-energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/se-blog-foird-bild-1-1024x525.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.fronius.com\/solar-energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/se-blog-foird-bild-1-300x154.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.fronius.com\/solar-energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/se-blog-foird-bild-1-768x394.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.fronius.com\/solar-energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/se-blog-foird-bild-1.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">El mar frente a Grise Fiord est\u00e1 helado durante nueve meses al a\u00f1o.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, el costoso transporte del combustible no era el \u00fanico problema: con una temperatura media anual de unos -16 \u00b0C, las aguas de Grise Fiord permanecen heladas casi nueve meses consecutivos. Durante ese periodo, el pueblo no es accesible por v\u00eda mar\u00edtima, lo que representa uno de los mayores desaf\u00edos log\u00edsticos para el suministro de di\u00e9sel, por no hablar de la instalaci\u00f3n de un sistema fotovoltaico en la fachada del centro comunitario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dificultades de acceso para el personal y los materiales<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Como consecuencia, Grise\u00a0Fiord decidi\u00f3 confiar en el instalador canadiense Green\u00a0Sun\u00a0Rising, experto en trabajar en estas latitudes, para el montaje del nuevo sistema fotovoltaico. \u00ab<em>Fue muy dif\u00edcil coordinar todas las entregas en un plazo tan ajustado\u00bb<\/em>, explica el instalador Klaus\u00a0Dohring. <em>\u00abEl simple hecho de llegar al pueblo, el m\u00e1s septentrional de Norteam\u00e9rica, result\u00f3 bastante complicado\u00bb<\/em>. La alcaldesa Meeka Kigutak lo explica: \u00ab<em>No es solo un edificio de oficinas, sino el n\u00facleo de nuestra vida social y cultural en Grise\u00a0Fiord<\/em>.<em>El sistema fotovoltaico es, por tanto, una inversi\u00f3n incre\u00edblemente importante para nuestra comunidad. En primer lugar, porque nos hace m\u00e1s independientes energ\u00e9ticamente y, en segundo lugar, porque nos permite gastar menos en di\u00e9sel. Ese dinero ahorrado beneficiar\u00e1 ahora a nuestra poblaci\u00f3n a largo plazo\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Producci\u00f3n ininterrumpida de energ\u00eda solar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Con casi 10 000 kWh generados al a\u00f1o, el pueblo ha logrado reducir significativamente su necesidad de usar di\u00e9sel caro. Aunque el transporte de todas las piezas necesarias por v\u00eda mar\u00edtima duplic\u00f3 como m\u00ednimo el coste del sistema fotovoltaico, el periodo de amortizaci\u00f3n es de apenas seis a\u00f1os, gracias al impresionante rendimiento durante los meses de verano. Esto se debe a que en Grise Fiord no sale el sol durante aproximadamente dos meses.
